On Saturday 11/25/2006 11:00PM PST, my hosting company perform urgent operating system patch on all servers. All webserver and email server will be affected - and so also the feed. You'll notice a downtime of 10 mins to 45 mins depending on the patch type.

Because of a server outage on a too many resources used failure the site is down. This includes the forum, the online help and the main site pages. We are sorry about and currently analyzing the reasons. I will post here, if the site is up again...:

Yes: they bit me. Now I found a undocumented feature about dasBlog: just add <DaysCommentsAllowed>60</DaysCommentsAllowed> to your site.config and it will only allow to post comments on entries not older than 60 days. Then I also disabled trackback and pingback, cleaned all my tracking entries and spam comments...

Yes: now it is back - my old layout from the brinkster days is transformed to a dasBlog theme named 'segertGreen' (a modified web design based on a free version published by segert.net). It rumors (by mail) there may be a dasBlog theme contest the next time, so here are my two cent.

Now I found a working configuration for w.bloggar posting to dasBlog 1.5.xxx inclusive title and category (you have to correct Host and Page path):

Attention to all BlogWorks XML users: if you want to migrate to dasBlog, please feel free to contact me for the .NET migration tool. If there are multiple requests I would add the code to the GDN fileshare. Don't reinvent the wheel.

If you got some problems the next few hours/days with this site: I'm about to switch my web host provider from Brinkster (that with ads on the right border), new WebHost4Life (thanks again to Thoemmi.NET).

Brinkster [www.brinkster.com] host my web site(s) now for years. It seems I have to look for another free service more seriously now. Problems arising again and again. Some other people [e.g. diveintomark] like to have GoogleAds. But I don't like any ad on my pages while Brinkster force all free accounts to have one now. It is the ugly damn thing at the right side hiding all my shortcuts and links! And not to forgot: Brinkster don't like any .asp page with an embedded On error resume next if it is not switched back within the same function with a On error goto 0. This makes the simple use of any third party free .asp software a hard try and error upload task. No ftp upload/mail support on free accounts are just more points on the list.

Got a new laptop on monday: not the brand new model (PIII mobile, 1GHz, 512 MB RAM), but incredible fast compared to my previous one (PIII, 300MHz, 256MB RAM). It takes the whole day to install all the useful and needed things again, but it was also a kind of spring finery: all the older not often used tools get lost. The most important change was that of the OS itself: used W2K for years now (professional and personal) and learned to use this as the most important tool. Now I started snatching fresh air: Windows XP. First impression: installing the wireless connection was very easy, switched the Teletubbies look back to the familiar, installed Office 2003 (slow download, fast installation), yes it feels good. But may be the major reason is the faster machine... :)

Next BlogWorks release 1.1.2 is available. As Adrian wrote, it addresses a important security bug (hopefully mine), but category support is only in the v1.3.0 preview :-(

I should change/split my working time: from 4:00 to 10:00 AM, and from 4:00 PM to..., it's so (too) hot for a european like me! 30 degrees Celsius (86 F) in the evening at 10:00 PM, glaciers smelt, is still normal now?

Why in the hell they do so [Hacked By Lades268]? This is not a poilitical blog, and I'm not fanatic on securing my blog. But anyway, other fight agains Spam in their comments, I fight against Spam within my blog :-( May be Adrian Frost can provide some hints to make the blog engine more secure?

I currently use a separate archive index page on my private blog. But as the archivelist is also available on the main blog page, it is not really needed. But it opens more flexibility to users that want only one link to the archive, not the whole list list itself on the main page to save layout space or have other more important links there. You should keep it supported. A separate template for archive pages would open to render them more specific to give better feedback to a visitor that he currently not display the newest item(s) and provide backlinks etc., nice to have. I would like to have the additional RSS tags available at edit time (and also the support within the templates). Also: to be able to provide a trackback URL I have to "fall back" to the web editor. Any extensions to w.bloggar are known to support categories/trackback ? [content related to...]

Upgraded to BWXML 1.1 and changed the css to get a more compact design. The Brinkster (my host) own problem with upload of .asp pages with On Error Resume Next (not paired with On Error goto 0) statements is considerable frustrating. The rss.xml feed is now of version 2.0.

I have started the search on google a half hour, no interesting hoster found. Next was going through the list provided by www.asp.net. After two hours I stop working/visiting the extensive list on character 'C'. The most interesting price/capability ratio detected on
