Ja, bin heut aus einer sentimentalen Laune heraus mal wieder beim www.fruehstyxradio.de vorbeigesurft. Alte Erinnerungen wurden wach (hallo Melle!) an das jed-sonntägliche Hörvergnügen auf Radio FFN (analog im Großraum Hannover empfangbar, ja, auch in Magdeburg :). Ein paar unveröffentlichte (nicht auf CD/MC) Onkel Hotte Märchen sind bei Marcel Lohmann zu finden, Adam und Eva machten meinen Tag. Leider ist das Ganze hier unten in Bayern nicht so bekannt (und nicht hörbar :( , außer von CD/MC), außerdem spricht Onkel Hotte nicht bayrisch Aber einen kleinen Vorteil als Zugezogener muß/darf man ja auch mal haben...

Right, such important parts should be published on MSDN. But to get more background informations is also one of the reasons I read so much MS blogs...

Zuerst war der eine: Video-Recorder. Schon einmal repariert (war fast teurer als ein neuer), jetzt wieder hinüber. Dann kam der zweite: Bille ersteigerte einen für 5€ bei e-Bay. Erstes Problem: Bauhöhe passt nicht, zweites Problem: er spielt ebenfalls keine Videos ab (Drama für unsere Kids: man denke nur an die Maulwurf-Videos, Disney Filme etc. pp. Mehrere Dutzend davon wollen noch nicht sofort in die Tonne...) Aprop. gibts den Maulwurf auch auf CD? Gestern nun haben wir doch noch einen Neuen gekauft, mit passender Bauhöhe und er funktioniert! Hab auch gleich noch die Rack-Schrankwand-Umbaumassnahmen gestartet. Nur beenden kann ich's erst heut: mir fehlt noch ein Audio Kabel. Die anderen schlummern nun im Keller (jemand interessiert und im Grossraum Lindau wohnhaft? Verschenke diese an Selbstabholer) Die Lebensdauer/Mechanik eines CD Players scheint etwas länger zu sein als die der Video-Recorder: mein Kenwood Spieler dient nun schon seit 1992, der erste und bereits einmal reparierte Video-Rec. kam vor ca. 6 Jahren... Ob man das allerdings 1:1 auf DVD Spieler übertragen kann...? Wir werden sehen.

"Currently RSSBandit always uses IE to read the actual news pages (when hitting the 'Read on...' link)" [bug report on Bandit GDN by jelovirt]. Yes, all links on the third pane work like a to the link! The idea behind this behavior was to provide the reader with a better window size to read the requested page, not that small detail window below the listview of items. "I'd also like to see a preference option to control whether the news pages should be opened inside RSSBandit (using IE), or whether the default browser should be used and the pages are opened into their own windows." Other people like that too. I would suggest to restrict this behavior to only these links that requires a new window (remember target="_blank" attribute). The default would be to open them in a new Tab (my favourite), that does not waste up the desktop with too much browser windows. Think it is enough to get all the ads windows

Found this these days:

Windows XP ships with a number of icon overlays.

• A small arrow. Everybody knows this one: It's the shortcut overlay.
• A hand, palm up. This is the "sharing" overlay. A folder with this overlay is the root of a file share.

Am Montag sind wir aus Velpke zurückgekehrt: mein Papa hat am 17. seinen 60. Geburtstag gefeiert. Und: es war wirklich eine schöne Feier! Den Kids hat es Spass gemacht, obwohl sie die beiden einzigen mit weniger als 10 Jahren auf dem Buckel waren. Uns hat es Spass gemacht, alte Bekannte wiederzutreffen und Erinnerungen aufzufrischen. Der Höhepunkt des Abends: eine professionelle Bauchtänzerin! Gestern saßen wir, wie jedes Jahr einmal, mit unseren Nachbarn beim Barbecue, während heuer noch ein Kollege von mir kommt (Cesar mit Family). Natürlich zum Barbecue! Hab im Internet ein wirklich sehenswertes Fotoblog gefunden: Sensiti. Unglaubliche Bilder! Wollte fast sofort selber losziehen, aber mir fehlt noch ein wichtiges Teil: die DigiCam. Meine Canon EOS100 ist so schlecht auch nicht, hab sogar ein gutes Tele dafür, aber bis die Bilder immer so entwickelt ist, das dauert...

I just lost a few weeks worth of changes to RSS Bandit because I overwrote one of my files with one I got from Torsten without realizing Torsten had modified an old version of the file. We are visiting my parents this weekend for a big event: my dad's 60. birthday. It's nice to meet all my relatives I have ever not seen for years. 750 km each tour, to fly is too complicated and expensive. Thanks of the air-conditioning in our car the current weather does not matter too much.

Agree, here is a suggestion for another category domain -- the common NNTP groups should also work well: The item-level then looks like this:

But it is still only a suggestion to an aggregator, how to group items. Don has some related nice ideas about Filters in News Aggregators.

Next BlogWorks release 1.1.2 is available. As Adrian wrote, it addresses a important security bug (hopefully mine), but category support is only in the v1.3.0 preview :-(

I should change/split my working time: from 4:00 to 10:00 AM, and from 4:00 PM to..., it's so (too) hot for a european like me! 30 degrees Celsius (86 F) in the evening at 10:00 PM, glaciers smelt, is still normal now?

In den nächsten Tagen wird es hier ein paar Umbaumassnahmen geben: werde den nächsten Release von BlogWorks installieren. Das sollte dann auch die Sicherheitslücke dicht machen, hoffentlich. Ist das eigentlich überall so heiss? Abends um 22:00 Uhr noch 30 Grad, kaum auszuhalten. Torsten, Conny mit Kids sind grade auf Besuch und wollten sicher auch mal was anderes unternehmen als jeden Tag baden zu gehen. Aber bei dem Wetter bleibt einem wohl nix anderes übrig...
